Using Components
Every Bit component is a package. Install it with any package manager — or the Bit CLI — directly from the Bit Cloud registry.
Any package manager
Install components with npm, pnpm, or yarn — straight from the Bit Cloud registry.
Or the Bit CLI
bit install resolves the same components, wired into your Bit workspace.
Immutable versions
Install the latest or pin any version — published releases never change.
Quick start
# 1. Log in (Bit CLI and npm share the same token)
npm login --registry=https://node-registry.bit.cloud
# 2. Install a component like any package
npm install @my-org/my-project.hello-worldInstalling from a new machine or CI? See Configuring .npmrc.
Authenticate
The Bit Cloud registry uses one token for both the Bit CLI and npm — bit login and npm login produce the same token. Log in with either:
npm login --registry=https://node-registry.bit.cloud
# or
bit loginPublic components install without logging in. For private scopes and CI, configure a token in your .npmrc — see Configuring .npmrc.
Install a component
Use whichever package manager you already use — the component installs like any other package:
npm install @my-org/my-project.hello-world
pnpm add @my-org/my-project.hello-world
yarn add @my-org/my-project.hello-world
# or with the Bit CLI, into a Bit workspace:
bit install @my-org/my-project.hello-world
