Create Components
A component is a next-generation package — zero-config, auto-versioned, with built-in preview and docs. Create one with AI, in a cloud workspace, or locally; then release it and it's instantly installable.
Hope AI
Describe what you want in plain language — Hope generates working components and apps.
Cloud Workspaces
A full IDE in the browser — scaffold from templates, develop, preview, and release.
Local (Bit CLI)
Work on your own machine, in your own editor, with the Bit CLI.
With Hope AI
The fastest way to start. Open a Hope session, describe what you want to build, and Hope scaffolds the components (and apps) for you — running and previewable in seconds.
Start a session at bit.cloud/hope and enter a prompt like "Create a button and a card in a design system."
Refine, then release from the session. See Prompting Hope AI.
With Cloud Workspaces
A complete dev environment in the browser — no local setup. Create a workspace, then add components from templates and develop them with live preview.
Create a workspace at bit.cloud/create-workspace — choose a scope and name (or start from a starter).
In the IDE's Bit tab, choose "Create a new component," pick a template, and name it.
Edit files, preview with the dev server, then release from Source Control.
Locally with the Bit CLI
Prefer your own machine and editor? Install Bit, scaffold a workspace, and create components from the command line.
# install Bit
npx @teambit/bvm install
# create a workspace
bit new react my-project --default-scope my-org.my-project
# add a component
bit create react ui/buttonSee the CLI reference for more templates and options.
Releasing
However you create them, releasing is the same: tag a version and export. From the CLI:
bit login
bit tag
bit exportCloud Workspaces and Hope do this from the UI ("Tag & Export"). Export triggers Ripple CI to build the component; once the build succeeds it's live on Bit Cloud and installable as a package.
