The new Bit Cloud — public beta

The new Bit Cloud is open in public beta. Everything we have been rebuilding lands together: a new marketing site, a refreshed brand and Bit mark, a renewed About page, new documentation from the ground up, and a redesigned platform shell with sharper navigation and a real dashboard. The June launch is the moment we ship — beta is how you build with us until then, with every release visible on this page.

  • ✓New marketing site and refreshed brand
  • ✓Renewed About page and a refined Bit mark
  • ✓Brand-new documentation site, built around runnable examples
  • ✓Renewed platform UI — dashboard, scope, component, and lane surfaces
  • ✓Every beta release shipped openly on this changelog
Changesv2.0-beta.26·

Multi-app sandboxes on every lane

A change request can now spin up multiple app sandboxes on the same lane — frontend, backend, admin, marketing site — each with its own preview URL. Reviewers click through every app affected by the change in one place, no local checkout, no setup. Cross-app changes finally review like a single unit.

  • ✓Every app in the lane gets its own sandbox preview URL
  • ✓Reviewers see every affected surface from one change request
  • ✓Sandboxes share the lane state — frontend and backend stay in sync
Platformv2.0-beta.25·

New visual controls for component previews

Every component preview now ships with a built-in controls panel. Toggle props, switch compositions, change theme, viewport, and background — no code edits, no re-renders. The same controls work for compositions, docs examples, and embedded previews everywhere on Bit Cloud.

  • ✓Live prop controls generated from the component API
  • ✓Composition, theme, viewport, and background switchers built in
  • ✓Works in compositions, docs, and embedded previews uniformly
Platformv2.0-beta.24·

Softer preview sandbox — safe interactive actions

The preview sandbox is relaxed just enough to let components do real work. Network requests, clipboard, navigation within the preview, and local storage all behave the way they would in a real app — while the hard boundary that protects your account and the host page stays exactly where it was. Interactive demos finally feel like apps.

  • ✓Safe network, clipboard, and storage access inside previews
  • ✓In-preview navigation works without breaking out of the sandbox
  • ✓Account and host-page isolation guarantees unchanged
Ripplev2.0-beta.23·

Ripple reliability — fewer dropped builds, faster recovery

A round of Ripple CI fixes lands today: stuck propagations recover automatically, transient failures no longer poison downstream graphs, and retries pick up exactly where the failure happened. Cross-component releases finish on the first try more often.

  • ✓Auto-recovery for stuck propagations
  • ✓Failure isolation — one broken component no longer halts the graph
  • ✓Smarter retries that skip already-built work
Ripplev2.0-beta.22·

Dependency resolution acceleration — powered by graph-lock

Ripple now resolves dependency graphs against the per-scope graph-lock structure instead of recomputing from scratch on every build. Resolution times drop dramatically on large graphs, and incremental builds touch only the components whose locked sub-graph actually changed.

  • ✓Resolution reads from the locked graph instead of recomputing
  • ✓Up to 10× faster dep resolution on large multi-scope graphs
  • ✓Incremental builds touch only components whose sub-graph changed
Workspacesv2.0-beta.21·

Hope AI inside the workspace

Hope is now embedded directly into the cloud workspace — same chat, same context, same powers, but living next to your code instead of in a separate tab. Ask Hope to refactor a file, generate a new component, or explain a dependency without leaving the workspace.

  • ✓Hope panel docked inside the cloud workspace
  • ✓Shared session — open Hope from anywhere, keep one history
  • ✓Workspace state (files, lane, server) wired into the conversation
Platformv2.0-beta.20·

New About page and a refined Bit mark

The About page is rebuilt around our story — the people, the milestones, the bet on composable software. And the Bit mark gets a refresh: the composable graph stays as the foundation, with the Hope sparkle floating on top as the AI conductor.

  • ✓New About page with timeline, team, and the long bet
  • ✓Refreshed Bit mark — graph foundation + floating Hope sparkle
  • ✓Tighter wordmark for better optical balance at every size
Ripplev2.0-beta.19·

Ripple CI — UX overhaul

Ripple gets a UX pass top to bottom. The job timeline is easier to scan, failed components surface immediately with the exact error and the propagation path, logs stream in real-time without re-renders, and retrying a job no longer loses your filter state. Reading a Ripple build feels like reading a dashboard, not a wall of text.

  • ✓Redesigned job timeline with clear status at a glance
  • ✓Failed components surface with error + propagation path inline
  • ✓Real-time log streaming without flicker or re-renders
  • ✓Filter / search state preserved across retries
Workspacesv2.0-beta.18·

Workspace secrets & environment variables

Workspaces now have first-class secrets and environment variables. Set them once per workspace, reference them in apps and dev servers, and they are injected at runtime without ever appearing in source code. Hope can request the secrets it needs through an inline form — no more pasting keys into chat.

  • ✓Per-workspace secrets and env vars, stored encrypted
  • ✓Auto-injected into apps, dev servers, and aspects at runtime
  • ✓Hope can request missing keys through an inline masked form
  • ✓Same values can be promoted to hosting for production deploys
Platformv2.0-beta.17·

Renewed platform UI and a big performance pass

The platform shell gets a visual refresh and a performance overhaul. Faster initial render, lighter navigation, sharper typography, cleaner empty states.

  • ✓Refreshed scope, component, and lane surfaces
  • ✓Significantly faster initial render across the platform
  • ✓Sharper typography and cleaner empty states
Workspacesv2.0-beta.16·

Renewed create-workspace screen

Creating a workspace is now a single, clear flow. Pick a starting point — a scope, a component, a lane, a Git repo, or a blank slate — name it, and you are in. The screen merges what used to be three separate dialogs into one, surfaces recent choices, and remembers your defaults.

  • ✓One unified screen for every workspace starting point
  • ✓Recent scopes, lanes, and repos surfaced for one-click reuse
  • ✓Smart defaults — scope, env, and lane prefilled when obvious
Changesv2.0-beta.15·

Open existing change requests in a workspace

Every open change request now has a one-click "Open in workspace" action. The lane is checked out, dependencies are installed, and the dev server boots — you land exactly where the author left off, no setup. Reviewing, picking up half-finished work, or jumping in to help someone is now instant.

  • ✓One-click "Open in workspace" on every change request
  • ✓Lane, deps, and dev server all ready on first load
  • ✓Same flow for review, hand-off, and continuation
Platformv2.0-beta.14·

Platform hosting — deploy from any scope

Hosting now ships as a first-class platform capability. Apps deploy directly from any scope, with environment, custom domain, and rollout managed in one place. No external pipeline, no separate dashboard — push a component, get a URL.

  • ✓Deploy apps directly from any scope
  • ✓Environment, domain, and rollout configured in one place
  • ✓Same hosting powers preview lanes, staging, and production
Platformv2.0-beta.13·

Renewed documentation

The docs site is rebuilt from scratch: clearer information architecture, runnable examples wherever it makes sense, real component references generated from the code, and a search that actually finds things. Designed to grow with the platform.

  • ✓New IA — guides, references, and recipes cleanly separated
  • ✓Runnable examples and real component links throughout
  • ✓Search that surfaces APIs, guides, and changelog entries together
Ripplev2.0-beta.12·

Ripple build status in Hope AI

Hope now sees Ripple. When you snap or export, the build status streams into the chat — pending, running, succeeded, failed, with links to the component and the failing log. Hope can act on it: retry a job, open the errors, suggest a fix, or wait for the build before continuing.

  • ✓Live Ripple status surfaced in the Hope conversation
  • ✓Per-component pass/fail with links to logs
  • ✓Hope can retry, inspect, and wait for builds inline
Hope AIv2.0-beta.11·

Cloud MCP — connect Bit Cloud to any AI tool

Bit Cloud now exposes a Model Context Protocol server, so any MCP-aware agent (Claude, Cursor, your own tools) can read components, scopes, lanes, and dependency graphs directly. The same context Hope uses internally is now available to every AI you work with.

  • ✓MCP server over the Bit Cloud API
  • ✓Read components, scopes, lanes, and graphs from any agent
  • ✓Same context primitives Hope uses internally
Hope AIv2.0-beta.10·

Workspace status visible inside Hope

Hope now surfaces live workspace status right in the chat — modified components, current lane, dev-server health, snap/export state. You can see what the workspace is doing without leaving the conversation, and Hope reasons over the same signals you do.

  • ✓Live workspace status pinned in Hope
  • ✓Modified components, lane, and server health at a glance
  • ✓Hope reasons over the same state you see
Platformv2.0-beta.9·

Dashboard upgrades — suggested prompts, recent apps, CRs, workspaces

The dashboard becomes a real home base. Suggested prompts get you into Hope with one click for the most common next steps. Recent apps, recent change requests, and recent workspaces sit alongside so you can pick up exactly where you left off.

  • ✓Suggested prompts — one-click into Hope for common next steps
  • ✓Recent apps, change requests, and workspaces on the dashboard
  • ✓Pick up where you left off without searching
Hope AIv2.0-beta.8·

Hope on mobile, React Native, and longer conversations

Hope is fully usable from a phone — hamburger nav, swipe gestures, chat/preview tab toggling. A new React Native architecture type and env let you scaffold native apps with the same prompt-first flow. A 3-stage Anthropic context compaction keeps long sessions alive past the token ceiling.

  • ✓Mobile Hope with hamburger nav + swipe gestures
  • ✓React Native architecture type + env wiring
  • ✓3-stage context compaction (no more token crashes)
  • ✓Main onboarding becomes default
Platformv2.0-beta.7·

SSR hosting — deploy server-rendered apps from any workspace

Hosting now supports SSR deployment end-to-end. Apps that render on the server (Next.js, custom Node servers, frameworks with hydration) deploy with the same one-click flow as static sites — no manual infra, no config to write.

Hope AIv2.0-beta.6·

Custom domains, Opus 4.7, and secure VS Code auth

Three changes that broaden where Hope and Bit Cloud meet the world. Hosting gets custom domain support, so deployed apps live on your brand. Hope upgrades to Claude Opus 4.7 with improved tool handling and compaction. And the VS Code extension hardens its local server with bearer-token auth — no more open ports on localhost.

  • ✓Custom domain hosting
  • ✓Opus 4.7 — better tool calls, smarter compaction
  • ✓VS Code: bearer-token auth + 127.0.0.1 binding
Hope AIv2.0-beta.5·

Plan mode, review mode, and multi-app projects in Hope

Hope gets three workflow upgrades that change how you build big things with it. Plan mode lets you design the architecture before any code is written, and revise it interactively. Review mode pauses execution at meaningful checkpoints so you can shape direction mid-build. And projects can now compose multiple apps — frontend + backend + admin — in a single Hope session.

  • ✓Plan mode — design the architecture before building
  • ✓Review mode — pause at checkpoints to steer mid-build
  • ✓Multiple apps composed into a single project

AI agents in Bit workspaces — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI

Cloud workspaces now ship with first-class support for AI coding agents. Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Gemini CLI all pre-authenticated and ready, with workspace context (components, lanes, dependency graph) wired into each session. Bring your preferred agent, keep your composable model.

  • ✓Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI pre-installed and authenticated
  • ✓Workspace context passed to every agent automatically
  • ✓Multiple agents can run in parallel in the same workspace
Hope AIv2.0-beta.3·

Figma integration — design tokens, frames, and components end-to-end

The Figma integration is rebuilt around the full design-to-production loop. Pull frames and components directly into a workspace, sync design tokens both ways, and round-trip changes back to Figma without leaving Hope. Designers and engineers finally share one source of truth.

  • ✓Pull Figma frames + components directly into a workspace
  • ✓Two-way design token sync
  • ✓Round-trip changes back to Figma
Hope AIv2.0-beta.2·

GitHub integration for Hope AI

Hope can now read from and write to GitHub repos directly. Open a PR from a Hope session, pull an existing repo into a workspace, or run Hope against a live branch. The first step toward Hope being useful for any codebase, not just Bit ones.

  • ✓Open PRs from Hope sessions
  • ✓Import existing GitHub repos into workspaces
  • ✓Run Hope against any branch
Changesv2.0-beta.1·

Force-merge for lanes

Lanes can now force-merge when divergence is intentional — useful for hotfix flows where the merge resolution lives outside the system. No more fighting the tool when you already know what you want to ship.
